WHAT ARE PLANT NUTRITIONAL ELEMENTS?

There are 20 absolute nutrients needed by plants.

These plant nutrients;

*HYDROGEN *OXYGEN *CARBON *NITROGEN *PHOSPHORUS *POTASIUM *CALCIUM *MAGNESIUM

*SULFUR *BORON *COPPER *IRON *CHLORINE *MANGAN *MOLYBDENE *ZINC

*NICEL *SILICUM *COBALT *SODIUM

These elements are divided into two groups as mineral and non-mineral.

Non-minerals are hydrogen, oxygen and carbon. These elements are found in air and water. With photosynthesis, plants convert carbon dioxide in the air into carbon and oxygen, and water into hydrogen and oxygen, thanks to the energy they obtain from the sun. These elements are converted into starch and sugar, which are storage nutrients in the plant.

Mineral nutrients, on the other hand, are the other elements (other 17 elements) apart from the 20 basic elements given above, oxyken, hydrogen and carbon elements.

These mianrel elements are generally found in the soil. As a result of the increase in the population food index and the application of wrong fertilizer to the soil, these elements in the soil have turned into salt and lime structure and the ones in the soil have become inaccessible to plants.

In plant nutrition, the nutritional needs of the plant are met as a result of the transfer of plant nutrients to the soil and plant through irrigation.
